About this Artwork There's a special kind of magic you experience when you walk on a glacier; it's as if you're floating while standing, hovering above an unknown portal that could swallow you into it's midst at any moment. The Matanuska Glacier in Alaska is the stage, as I pondered the concept of Spontaneous Creation - similar to spontaneous combustion - the ability for our minds to receive any form of input from the senses and translate that into thoughts, ideas and visions. I wanted to find a way through movement and environment to express that sensation. I hope this photograph inspires new ideas and wondrous pondering as you view it in your space.
