50 sheets A5 (8.3” x 5.8”/21cm x 14.8cm) 100gsm recycled paper with board backing. Printed on recycled paper using vegetable oil based inks. This is the first and original A5 pad I designed, all the way back in 2020 (just pre-covid) when I ran a successful Kickstarter campaign to get them to print. Whilst some other items from that collection have been and gone, these have stuck around as they’re always a popular floral notepad for all occasions. Whether it stays by you on your desk, lives near the phone, or is tucked in a letter rack in the kitchen ready for last minute lists, I reckon it’s a staple in anyone stationery collection.. And even if what you’re using it for isn’t the most exciting, having a beautiful patterned pad still means I smile when I reach for it. Originally hand-drawn motifs, the flowers on this pad were painstakingly digitised and carefully coloured to become a tonal bouquet to decorate this pad, and with the teal edging it really gives me a dose of spring energy, and unsurprisingly the full pattern collection was called Spring Forward. This recycled paper notepad has 50 tear-off sheets per pad, which are lightly glued together along the top edge. The central panel is ever-so-slightly transparent, so you can still faintly see the pattern underneath, but also clearly read what’s been written. The paper is 100gsm, so it’s nice and smooth to write on and an easily cope with inkier pens and highlighters, and the pad is backed by recycled board to give it some rigidity. Along with the vegetable oil based inks used by my UK based printer, it means this product is made from recycled elements and is also fully recyclable too. Finally, this notepad will come to you wrapped in a recycled paper belly band, which is also fully recyclable. There’s a few reasons why a notepad such as this makes a great gift, especially for stationery lovers. Firstly they’re an easy shape to wrap and post. Secondly, they make a unique budget-friendly yet quality gift, especially good for a colleague or a secret-santa. And whilst not everyone likes full-on florals, I like to think the colours on these pads mean they’re not too Victorian-florals in feel. And finally they’re a practical present too, so if you’re conscious about not wanting to get something for the sake of it a pad like this, or just generally beautiful patterned stationery, make a brilliant choice.
