Interestingly enough, Spring Satin is a plum and apricot hybrid introduced in Bryron, GA. The fruit matures in early July, making it an early plum selection. The finish is purple, flesh is yellow-red at full maturity, and the flavor is outstanding. Spring Satin trees are resistant to some of the major plum diseases, including bacterial spot and bacterial canker. Growing well in hardy zones 6-9 and is not self fertile so it's best to pollinate with another Japanese Plum or Santa Rosa Plum tree. At maturity, this tree reaches 15 - 20' tall and wide. Our plum trees are 3 year trees that our sold in 5 gallon lines and are approximately 5' tall and have a trunk of approximately 1".
