Raise the front of the van with a jack and secure it with jack stands, or use a lift for easier access. 2. Front Mounting – Factory Bolt Points Lift the skid plate into position under the engine bay. Align the front holes of the skid plate with the pre-threaded factory frame holes on the front crossmember. Insert factory bolts (or reuse existing bolts if removed). Hand-tighten to hold in place. 3. Rear Mounting – Suspension Subframe Align the rear holes of the skid plate to the factory holes near the lower control arm/suspension area: 4x4 Sprinter (2019–2022): Rear bolt holes sit wider apart. AWD Sprinter (2023+): Rear bolt holes are closer together and slightly forward. Insert the two included bolts into these rear frame points. Hand-tighten initially. 4.
