The pickups here are 2 Jazzmaster Single Coil Pickups which sound extremely smooth and full, just what you would expect from a Jazzmaster. What's great about this guitar though is the dual tone circuitry. You get a little black switch at the top of the guitar which changes the tone circuit. So in the downward position you're using the cream volume and tone knobs which has that nice single coil twang, but when put into the upward position you're using the black metal rollers for tone and volume which makes the pickups sound more like humbuckers for a beefy sound ideal for fat Jazz chords and licks. If you want to add a load of drive to the sound then this is a good setting to have it on too. Overall, this is a fantastic playing, looking and sounding guitar that comes in at extremely good value!
