The inner plates are chamfered — no square edges — which smooths the chain's engagement with the cassette and contributes to quieter, faster shifting. Outer plates are nickel-treated silver, inner plates are black, and the pins are chromed. It's a durable combination that holds up to trail grime without looking like it's given up.
