SS-31 (Szeto-Schiller peptide 31), also known as Elamipretide, is a mitochondria-targeted tetrapeptide with the sequence D-Arg-2'6'-dimethylTyr-Lys-Phe-NH2. It is selectively conce ntrated in the inner mitochondrial membrane where it interacts with cardiolipin, a critical phospholipid essential for mitochondrial electron transport chain function.
