As the result of strict grape selection and low yields, South Tyrol’s native Lagrein grape variety has evolved into the province’s top red over the past decades. In the vineyard, warm sandy soils are required, while in the cellar, aging in wood is essential. Only grapes grown in the classic selected vineyards of the Bolzano Valley Basin are used to make Lagrein Riserva.
