This species forms large, rounded clumps of green, long and narrow, textured leaves. It is lovely even when it's not in bloom. From early to midsummer, sturdy spikes of lavender-rose flowers shoot up through the foliage, putting on quite a display. This plant will require over-wintering (vernalisation) in order to flower in summer. Ideal Conditions: Ideal for free-draining soil in full sun or partial shade. Possible Situation: Excellent for containers and raised beds for the summer, but can be planted in the border afterwards to enjoy for years to come.
