This does not effect the piece, it in my opinion gives it more character. Every piece is unique in its own way, shape, color etc. **Although water resistant, they are not waterproof and should not be worn in a bath, and should be kept away from water, essential oils, any chemicals, make up and anything that could bring harm to it.
