I am Stacking Containers. A little balance, a little shuffle—stack me high or mix me up, and let the wood do the talking. Pepper in Tagaya, salt in maple, or maybe a surprise twist. I keep things contained, but never too predictable. Curator's Notes Makoto Koizumi’s Stacking Containers are as fun as they are functional. On the desk, they can keep paper clips and thumbtacks in check. In the bedroom, they can hold favorite rings and earrings. In the kitchen, they’re perfect for condiments, just like in a cozy soba restaurant. What I love most is the mix of different woods, which makes it easy to “color code” what’s inside—Tagaya for pepper, maple for a special table salt, zelkova for togarashi or perhaps quince for a favorite spice blend. Small yet beautifully crafted, they stack seamlessly and bring a playful sense of order to any space, making organization feel a little more special.
