Precision EFI Knock Protection Every Precision EFI ECU calibration includes our advanced Knock Protection System, continuously monitoring combustion conditions and allowing the ECU to react instantly when necessary to help protect your engine while maximizing performance. Clutch Calibration Required Proper clutch calibration is essential to achieve the advertised performance. The Stage 3 requires adjustable primary clutch ramps (weights) to maintain the engine at its optimum operating range. Target Engine Speed: 9,000 RPM Recommended Starting Settings For a stock primary spring and helix in good condition: Target RPM: 9,000 RPM TEAM Clutch: Dalton QA2-76 Adjustable Ramp Kit (empty). ADAPT Clutch: Dalton QA3-65 Adjustable Ramp Kit set to a total weight of 66 g (use purple Loctite on the adjustment screws). A screw head positioned flush with the top of the adjustment hole (heel position) is the most common starting point. Note: Clutch springs, helixes, gearing, track setup, rider weight, elevation, temperature, and snow conditions all affect engine RPM. These settings are intended as a starting point and should be fine-tuned for your specific application. Clutch Tuning Procedure To obtain the correct clutch calibration: Accelerate aggressively while applying the throttle progressively to minimize track slip. Allow the engine RPM to stabilize under full load. Record the engine RPM. If RPM is above 9,000, add clutch weight. If RPM is below 9,000, remove clutch weight. Always verify clutch calibration under actual riding conditions, as snow surface, traction, and weather conditions will influence engine RPM.
