This 8.5" Western style Chef knife is handmade from AEBL Stainless Steel. This steel is very durable and holds an excellent edge, while also providing for a low maintenance experie nce. The full tang blade is 3/32" thick at the spine and has a full distal taper toward the tip, and a thin edge thickness of 1 mm at a depth of 1 cm from the edge. The Western style chef is the ideal jack of all trades chef knife for the kitchen. If you want one knife to do everything, this is the one for you. Pairing it with the Stainless Japanese Paring knife will allow you to do virtually everything you need with those 2 blades, and the high grade stainless steel will hold a very thin edge for a long time. In addition there is a lanyard tube in the handle so it is easy to hang up in the kitchen, and is Ferro Magnetic so it will stick to a magnet bar. The handle construction is a full tang with a black micarta bolster and stainless pins, with G10 liners, and a variety of stabilized wood handle options to choose from. The handle has been given a high polish and oiled to protect against moisture and to be as enjoyable as possible to use. For cleaning we recommend a rinsing the blade with water and soap and completely drying the knife with a towelWe also offer a hand tooled and stitched leather sheath for storage, custom fitted to the blade to hold it snugly and for ease of use.
