When ordering a custom piece from Mortise & Tenon, you have the option to choose your finish. You can choose a wash, ceruse, or stain. A stain is one color across the wood. It is a bsorbed by the rings of wood differently, which causes highlights and lowlights. **Please note, different kinds of wood will take stains differently. If you see a stain you like on Reclaimed wood, but are wanting Oak, it will look different. We do offer samples before your piece is finished, to ensure you get what you want. Show more
