One of the biggest-selling jazz albums of all time, not to mention bossa nova's finest moment, Getz/Gilberto trumped jazz samba by bringing two of bossa nova's greatest innovators - guitarist/singer João Gilberto and composer/pianist Antonio Carlos Jobim - to New York to record with Stan Getz. The results were magic. It's release helped fuel the bossa nova craze in the United States and internationally, becoming the first Grammy Award-winning album from non-American artists. It brought together Stan Getz, who had already performed the genre on his LP Jazz Samba, João Gilberto (one of the creators of the style), and Jobim, a celebrated Brazilian composer (and also one of the main creators of the genre), who wrote most of the songs in the album. It became one of the best-selling jazz albums of all time, and turned Astrud Gilberto, who sang on the tracks The Girl from Ipanema" and "Corcovado", into an internationally celebrated musician."Tracks:1.1 The Girl from Ipanema 1.2 Doralice 1.3 Para Machuchar Meu Coracao 1.4 Desafinado 1.5 Corcovado (Quiet Nights of Quiet Stars) 1.6 S Dano Samba 1.7 O Grande Amor 1.8 Vivo Sohando
