Standard Daisho Set - Bokken & Shoto - Red/White Oak Made in Japan (Kyushu)Flat Spine | Flat butt | Short KissakiAvailable in Red or White oak Both Standard Bokken and Shoto are ma de from wood coming from the southern islands of Kyushu (Japan), and are available either in Red or White oak. Those weapons are characterized by a simple and basic finish, a flat tsukagashira, a hiramine, and a shokissaki. The selected wood is of high quality but unlike higher-grade models, it does not undergo any specific selection. Those models are excellent basic bokken and shoto for beginners but they might be a bit limited for experienced practitioners. This set is the standard officially approved for Kendo Kata. Finishes are identical, only the wood species changes. This set is offered with a 1,000 YEN discount in comparison with separate purchases. We also sell the Standard Bokken and the Standard Shoto separately. Wood species: Red oak, White oak Finish: camellia oil polish Manufacturing workshop: Aramaki or Matsuzaki For this model, we complete the workshop finish with Camelia oil treatment by default. This is the standard Seido finish. We do not apply any additional polishing for this finish, so some weapons might have a slightly rough surface. For higher quality finish, please consider our deluxe models, which are available with our "Seido Special Finish". For maintenance, we recommend that you oil your weapons about once a month with a vegetal based oil.
