A ‘standard’ or ‘ensign’ would be used in battle to let the cavalry know that their leader is still standing. This would strengthen their resolve and help them engage with greater resilience. This golden standard projects imaginary wings in protection. Its mighty face garners strength. Behind it are the hard lines of a battlefield, deep and treacherous. The standard is facing forward, imbuing its regiment with confidence, unyielding in sovereignty. It is wondrous that a sign can fill the heart with a desire to continue. Amidst difficulty or joy, signs constantly surround us. It is up to us to open our eyes and truly see them, and know they are working for us all.
