Stangeria eriopus is a truly unique cycad native to the coastal forests and grasslands of southern Africa. It’s the sole species in the genus Stangeria, and its delicate, feather-l ike leaves set it apart from all other cycads. Stangeria grows from a subterranean, carrot-shaped tuber, which stores nutrients and allows it to survive drought. Plants are sent bare root, are kept moist and safely secured in their packaging.
