Star Realms is a top Game of Wise Wizard Games, and we are pleased to pair it with Gambit and a Game Board for a friendly gaming experience for 2 to 4 Players. This box set includes Star Realms Core game and Gambit set plus two additional starting decks, a game board and a full color rule book. We are also including 2 challenge cards Pirates of the Dark and Nemesis Beast. Our Personal Review and Recommendation We often play Star Realms as a quick 2 player fill in game. We've fairly much purchased every expansion and addon for this game as a favourite of ours. It's simple and light yet has so much depth in your build out strategies. Each faction offers very different abilities and traits which gives this game good character and a strong take that atmosphere and goes both directions. Scoring in the base game is a bit fiddly in comparison to the rest of the smooth running game, however this is easily fixed with using one of the free scoring apps on Google Play or Apple App Store. Strongly recommend downloading and using these apps when playing the game. Build out your deck to beat your opponent. Will you capitalise on one faction , or take the best of each? See how lean can you get your deck by trashing those useless cards, don't underestimate that ability, then maximise those card abilities with double plays! Just watch out for that horrendous blob faction that will knock you out. We would rank this game 8/10 for 2 players as we think this is where the game shines, it has tremendous replay-ability, fast turns, strategy with a bit of luck, fast to the table and a family favourite of deck building techniques that we still pull out and play 10 years later. Whilst it plays at higher counts, we much prefer it at 2 players.
