Written and directed by George Lucas, the film began a phenomenon franchise which is still going as strong as ever today. This original release poster was created in 1977 for the original promotion of the film. With a design from English artist Tom Chantrell, this is the "Oscars version" featuring details of the 7 Academy Awards the landmark film recently won.
