The 2026 Starboard Generation 12'6″ x 30″ Lite Tech is a hybrid SUP designed to combine characteristics of touring, racing and surfing in one board. At 12'6″ long, 30″ wide and 272 L, it is the widest 12'6″ option in the Generation range, providing a stable platform while retaining the shorter length's maneuverability. It is designed for riders up to approximately 110 kg. The Generation uses a fairly parallel outline for predictable, controlled glide. Its wide nose provides quick acceleration, while the tail narrows into a square shape that allows the board to respond quickly when turning. The combination gives the board more versatility than a dedicated touring or race shape. Underneath, the round Vee nose helps the board accelerate and move smoothly through chop, while the deep double concave provides additional stability beneath the standing area. A gradual nose kick helps prevent the nose from diving in surf and assists the board when moving through chop. The tail is equipped with thruster fin boxes, allowing the board to be configured for surfing as well as straight-line paddling. A single-fin setup provides tracking for touring and racing, while the additional side fins increase control and responsiveness when surfing. Lite Tech Construction The Lite Tech construction is designed to balance weight, rigidity and durability. Unidirectional stringer bandsincrease longitudinal stiffness, while reinforced rails and the nose provide additional structural protection. Australian pine is used beneath the standing area to increase rigidity and impact resistance in a high-load section of the board. The board's inserts also receive high-density foam reinforcement. The deck features a recessed standing area designed to provide a stable, comfortable position while allowing the rider to move around the board. A front bungee tie-down provides space for carrying gear, and the board includes shoulder-strap inserts for carrying. At 12'6″ x 30″, this version prioritizes stability within the shorter Generation platform. Compared with the narrower 12'6″ models, the additional width and 272 L volume provide a more forgiving ride, while the shorter length keeps the board relatively easy to maneuver on and off the water. Overall, the 12'6″ x 30″ Lite Tech sits between a dedicated touring board and a performance SUP, with a combination of stability, glide, maneuverability and surf capability.
