Where most woven objects conceal their structure, this one shows it. The weave radiates outward from the centre in concentric rings - dense and tight in the middle, opening gradual ly toward the edge into a spoke pattern that lets the light through. You can see exactly how it was made. That is part of what makes it worth looking at. The material is sedge, grown on THORR's own cultivated lands in Amnat Charoen Province, in the northeast of Thailand - harvested by hand, sun-dried, and woven on traditional looms by master weavers who have practised this craft for most of their lives. The threads are left in their natural colour, with navy-dyed sedge woven in at intervals to mark the rings. No ink, no print. The pattern is the weaving.
