Staurolite gets its name from the Greek word stavros, meaning “cross” — and for good reason. This striking gem has been treasured since ancient times for its unique twinned crystals that give it the appearance of an “X” or a cross. In the Middle Ages, Christians carried these stones for good luck and protection and placed them atop their churches to ward off evil spirits and negative energy. With its resemblance to a crucifix, Staurolite is said to carry the compassionate, patient, selfless energy of Christ. Beloved for its beautiful intersecting crystals, Staurolite represents the meeting of the mind, heart, and body. It activates and aligns the root, heart, and third eye chakras, accelerating spiritual growth and allowing you to connect with your highest self by creating a bridge between the Earth and the higher realms. If you’ve been feeling like you’re at a crossroads on your personal journey, Staurolite will help you connect with your guides and envision your path forward. It also encourages you to listen to your heart, integrating the lessons learned from emotional healing to help you discern your next move. Holding it to the third eye in meditation will powerfully unlock your intuition, connecting you with wisdom learned over lifetimes, reminding you that you have walked this path many times before.
