The body is full steel with laser-cut tolerances that keep the gaps around the door and hopper tight enough to resist pry attacks. The hinge is internal and all-steel, so there are no exposed cutting points for someone with an angle grinder to target. On the lock side, you get a SECURAM SafeLogic TopLit UL-Approved high security electronic lock backed by a hard plate and internal re-locker, which means a punch or drill attack on the keypad won't release the bolts. The SafeLogic TopLit also adds two LED lights at the top of the keypad that illuminate when any button is pressed, so programming and opening the safe in dim back-office lighting is a non-issue. Turn the housing ring counterclockwise about 20 degrees until it stops, then pull it off the EntryPad base Push the battery out from the bottom left side of the EntryPad and unsnap it from the connector Snap a fresh 9V alkaline battery onto the clip and push it back into the compartment from the right side, tucking the cable in so it doesn't get caught in the housing ring Line up the three alignment tabs on the inside of the housing ring with the three grooves on the EntryPad base, then slide the ring onto the base Turn the ring clockwise until you hear a click Changing Your Code Always perform code changes with the safe unlocked and the door open. Decide on your new 6-digit code before you start so the lock doesn't time out mid-sequence (the system reverts to standby after 10 seconds of inactivity). Press [0] six times (two beeps) Enter your existing 6-digit code (two beeps) Enter your new 6-digit code (one beep) Re-enter your new 6-digit code (one beep confirms the new code is set) If you hear three beeps at any point, the code change failed and your existing code is still active. Start the sequence over from step one. Important: Verify your new code at least 3 times with the door open before closing the safe. Troubleshooting Low Battery Alert: 8 repeated beeps during an unlock operation means the battery is low and needs immediate replacement. Low voltage threshold is 5.2 ± 0.2V. Lockout Mode: 4 consecutive wrong codes triggers a 5-minute penalty. The keypad beeps every 5 seconds during the penalty and won't accept input. Pressing buttons during the penalty does not restart or extend it. Removing the battery only pauses the countdown, so the battery must stay connected for the lockout to clear normally. Standby: Two short beeps mean the system has reverted to standby after 10 seconds of no activity. Just start your entry over.
