Steam Rotorflight Nitro Engine Temp Sensor The Steam Rotorflight Nitro Engine Temp Sensor is a compact dual temperature telemetry module designed for Rotorflight-compatible gyro and flight controller setups that support the FLYROTOR telemetry protocol. This sensor is ideal for nitro and gas RC helicopter applications where engine temperature monitoring is needed directly through your Rotorflight telemetry system. Important Firmware Requirement Please make sure your flight controller is running Rotorflight 2.2.1 or newer, with firmware version 4.5.1 or newer. Older Rotorflight versions may not properly support the required FLYROTOR telemetry data. Quick Start Setup Connect the sensor telemetry wire to the flight controller port labeled TLM. Open Rotorflight Configurator. Go to Configuration > Serial Ports. Find the port labeled TLM and set it to ESC Telemetry. Go to the Motors tab. Set ESC Telemetry Protocol to Flyrotor. Check the Motor 1 telemetry fields. Where the Telemetry Appears in Rotorflight After setup, the sensor data will appear under the Motor 1 telemetry section in Rotorflight. Battery Voltage / Rail Voltage – Sensor input voltage Motor Temperature / ESC Temperature – Temperature from the sensor's Temp1 / T1 input BEC Temperature – Temperature from the sensor's Temp2 / T2 input For nitro or gas helicopter use, the Temp1 / T1 input is typically used for engine/head temperature. The Temp2 / T2 input can be used for a second engine location, BEC temperature, ESC temperature, or general model temperature monitoring. Telemetry Data Sent to the Radio The module sends three telemetry data points to the radio: Vbat – Module power supply / rail voltage Tesc – Temperature value from the sensor's Temp1 / T1 input BecT – Temperature value from the sensor's Temp2 / T2 input Temp1 and Temp2 refer to the two physical temperature inputs on the Flyrotor temperature sensor. They are not necessarily the exact telemetry item names shown in Rotorflight, EdgeTX, or ETHOS. In the radio telemetry list, the values are typically sent as Vbat, Tesc, and BecT. Radio and firmware display names may vary depending on the receiver, flight controller, Rotorflight version, and radio system. Key Features Dual temperature input support Supports Rotorflight / FLYROTOR telemetry-compatible gyros and flight controllers Wide operating voltage range: 5–25V Temperature sampling range: -30°C to 150°C Telemetry output for voltage and two temperature channels Useful for nitro engine, gas engine, ESC, BEC, or general model temperature monitoring Specifications Product Type Rotorflight Telemetry Temperature Sensor Operating Voltage 5–25V Temperature Range -30°C to 150°C Telemetry Protocol FLYROTOR Required Rotorflight Version Rotorflight 2.2.1+ / Firmware 4.5.1+ Important Compatibility Note This temperature sensor module is only suitable for Rotorflight-compatible gyros, flight controllers, or telemetry systems that support the FLYROTOR protocol. Please verify FLYROTOR telemetry support before purchasing.
