It was years after the extinction of turtles before mankind managed to replicate them with steam powered replacements. Unfortunately it was not long after that time that the mechan ical turtles became sentient and nearly reached the Singularity before a friend of Aunt Matilda's, Commander Xing Huizti was forced to go back in time to prevent the mass extinction that eventually took turtles through the rabbit hole.
