Bill Curry designed the Stemlite in the 1960s as a direct challenge to convention. Where most floor lamps separated structure from light source, Curry collapsed them into a single continuous form: a slender stem crowned by a globe, self-sufficient and quietly radical. The design carried the optimism of its era without sentimentality. GUBI's remastering of the Stemlite is faithful in spirit and precise in execution. The proportions are modular, the palette drawn from period-authentic colors, and the construction refined for longevity. Nothing about it feels like revival for its own sake.
