Samuel Stephen "Steve" Forbert is an American singer-songwriter born 1954 in Meridian, Mississippi. Forbert started out at age 17 busking in New York City and has gone on to record 23 studio albums and have his songs covered by name artist such as Rosanne Cash and Keith Urban. He is a gifted songwriter and a distinctive voice in Americana-folk music. He has released many excellent albums including; Alive on Arrival, Jackrabbit Slim, Street of This Town, The American in Me and Mission of the Crossroad Palms.
