Steve Turner has spent decades as a first-call saxophonist in sessions and live settings where groove and musicianship are non-negotiable, and Harbor Place reflects that hard-won f luency. The eight tracks here sit at the intersection of classic CTI-era sophistication and the kind of rolling, late-night funk that never really went out of style. Here, sleek jazz-funk, warm strings, and bass lines that pull you in and don't let go. Every track moves with subtle confidence, letting horns and flute soar while the grooves lock in tight. Smooth, sophisticated, and full of hidden energy - this is music made to be discovered, savored, and played over and over into the night.
