Composer's Note: Still Dancing is an extended “gigue” written for an ensemble of ten performers. The music is continuous and darts through the ensemble as the players twirl round e ach other. It sometimes slows but never stops. It touches the ground lightly, rebounding from the surface. The lightness of the music is sometimes interrupted by a dark turn, but the dance fights its way through. The dancing continues and, in the end, rides the music up into the brightening air.
