Rich apricot orange crystals of Stolzite are aggregated and scattered over a black-brown Goethite gossan matrix from the Proprietary mine at Broken Hill, New South Wales, Australia . This famous mine is situated on the line of lode in the city centre, an area where the crest of the anticlinal-structured orebody cropped out at surface. Stolzite crystals, averaging 1 mm, have a mainly double pyramidal habit with developments of pinacoid faces. A rather spectacular and rich miniature of the lead tungstate, Stolzite, a highly prized mineral from the Broken Hill Proprietary mine, often referred to as the BHP mine.
