Straight Eight is a classic open-pollinated slicing cucumber variety that produces straight, uniform cylindrical fruits typically 7-9 inches long and 2-2.5 inches in diameter, with smooth, dark green skin that's thin and tender, crisp white flesh, and small seeds when harvested young. The flavor is fresh, mild, and sweet with a clean cucumber taste and very low bitterness—excellent for fresh eating and consistent quality even under variable conditions. These cucumbers are fantastic sliced raw in salads, sandwiches, and crudités, used for tzatziki or raita, pickled as spears or slices, blended into chilled soups or smoothies, or added to wraps and gazpacho for cool, refreshing crunch.
