This is the kind of kitchen piece that stops being a tool and starts being decor — and that's entirely fine by us. A ceramic colander / strainer with hand-painted vegetables all ar ound the exterior: carrots, tomatoes, beets, peas, a green pepper — bright and bold and beautifully done. The interior is painted a warm terracotta-rust with dark green built-in handles. The style is strongly reminiscent of Italian ceramic pieces, particularly the ABC Bassano tradition, though without a maker's mark we can't confirm it — and honestly, it doesn't need a label. Five pre-drilled drainage holes. In excellent condition. Hang it on a kitchen or dining room wall when it's not in use, or simply use it. A lovely gift for the farmhouse kitchen, the Italian ceramics lover, or anyone who believes the tools you cook with should be as beautiful as the food you make.
