Our Australian Ship Supply II continues to foster and cherish the ancestral stories of our home port of Eden, the land of the Thaua people. The Thaua people have a unique and deep connection to the Orcas of Twofold Bay believing the killer whales to be reincarnations of their ancestors. The pre-existing cultural and spiritual connection between the Thaua people and Orcas allowed a unique collaboration between whalers and Orcas, hinging on the “law of the tongue”, whereby the orcas would feast on the whale carcass tongue and lips.This gin is named after Stranger, a pod leader of 6 Orcas frequenting Twofold Bay from 1840-1907. On HMAS Supply we acknowledge everyone is a leader who can care for those to their left and right. A fantastically citrus-forward gin, with hints of elderflower, rose petals, and cubeb adding a spiced finish.
