The world’s most refreshing cocktail was the result of a happy accident in Maryland, USA in the 1860’s, when ne ighbours of local farmer and ice-cream maker, Christian Zacharias found out that he had some British Navy rum stored in in his basement.One summer evening, Mr Zacharias and his neighbours decided to try the rum.
