Strawberry & Ferrero Cake – when chocolate meets fruit in the most delicious way Right. Ferrero Rocher – gold wrappers, hazelnut, wafer crunch. Strawberries – sweet, juicy, a little bit sharp. You wouldn’t think they belong together. But they do. It’s like a fancy box of chocolates met a fruit basket and fell in love. I make a dark chocolate sponge (not too heavy), then a layer of fresh strawberry compote (real strawberries, not jam). Then a layer of crushed Ferrero Rocher pieces and a drizzle of hazelnut chocolate ganache. On top, a milk chocolate buttercream, then a ring of whole Ferrero Rocher chocolates round the edge, and a pile of fresh strawberry slices in the middle. A dusting of gold dust if I’m feeling extra. Where to get it I bake these in Bromley. People from Downham, Grove Park, Sydenham, Catford and Bellingham order them for anniversaries, Valentine’s, or just because they want something fancy but not too fancy. I deliver local, or you can collect from the shop. Who’s buying this? Couples who can’t decide between chocolate and fruit. Anyone who loves Ferrero Rocher but also loves strawberries. And honestly? Anyone who’s ever dipped a strawberry in Nutella and thought “why isn’t this a whole cake?” One thing to know The fresh strawberries on top are best the same day – they go soft overnight. The Ferrero chocolates might melt in a warm car – keep the cake cool. If you want extra crunch inside, I can add more crushed wafer bits. And if you’re allergic to hazelnuts, this is not the cake for you. Right. That’s the strawberry & Ferrero cake.Chocolate, hazelnut, strawberry – three great tastes that taste great together.
