We only sell freshly harvested seeds from small time growers, hobbyists and collectors.Listing is for 5 SeedsThis charmingly vintage plant is ready for a comeback! Native to the mo ist valleys of North America, and a favorite in Europe since the 1600s, this plant is full of surprises. The arrow-shaped leaves, which resemble those of spinach, offer a similar flavor and nutritional benefits. But what sets this plant apart are its small, bright red berries! When young and underripe, the berries are mild and perfect for savory dishes and salads. Let them fully ripen to a deep crimson, and you'll be rewarded with juicy sweetness reminiscent of watermelon and berries. Be aware that, like spinach, the leaves contain oxalates, so those with sensitivities should take note. But fear not, the berries are perfectly safe when consumed in moderation, and the easy-to-grow plants are adaptable and grow similarly to wild lambsquarters. This particular variety originated from seeds found in a monastery garden in Europe, adding to its charming history. Show more
