Strelitzia juncea is a real architectural beauty and looks amazing in tropical gardens or as a statement in pots at the front door. As a baby the juncea is really similar to its popular sister Strelitzia reginae, it starts off with the same oval-shaped leaves and even has the same beautiful orange and purple flowers but once this baby matures the leaves turn to tall, narrow grey/green tall and reed-like (hence its common name Rush-leaved Strelitzia).
