Power, speed, and strength are the cornerstones of great athletes, especially for the game of basketball. This training program will focus on: Acceleration and deceleration for optimal body control. Its not always the fastest player who is the best, but the one who is in control the most. Power production (vertical and lateral) for attacking the rim and rising above the defence. Reactive athleticism for teaching the body to fire properly given a set of external stimuli. Teaching the body how to properly recruit and direct muscle power is essential to success but also injury prevention. The goal with all of our workouts is to make the athletes healthier and more resilient to the stressors of sports and competition. HOW IT WORKS Frequency - Athletes can sign up to have between on and three workouts per week. T Duration - This is a 15 week program that runs from September 8th to December 17th. Session details - Each session will be 60 minutes in length and athletes will train in group setting. Each group will have a maximum of 8 participants. Schedule - Workouts will be available on Tuesdays and Thursdays Tuesday - 5PM to 6PM & 6PM to 7PM Thursday - 4 to 5PM & 5 to 6PM TRAINING EQUIPMENT These workouts will use a combination of weight sleds, landmines, kettlebells, power bands, and benches. The extra workouts will be dictated by the proficiency level of the athletes in the session. FITNESS TESTING In order to empirically track the progress of each athlete, we will perform a fitness test before the first session and then a fitness test at the end of the program.
