This training plan includes: A Half Marathon + Strength program designed for someone with some running experience, building toward long runs of approximately 10 miles. A 10-Mile + Strength program designed for someone with less running experience, gradually building their long-run capacity while developing strength and conditioning. Both programs combine a structured running progression with powerlifting and CrossFit-style workouts throughout the week. Cardio kills gains… or so they say. After twelve years of powerlifting, I had built a strong foundation, including a 600lb squat, 700lb deadlift, and nearly 500lb bench press. When I transitioned into CrossFit, I wondered how increasing my endurance would affect my strength. It didn’t. I was able to maintain my powerlifting numbers while significantly improving my aerobic capacity and developing new gymnastic skills. That experience got me thinking: How far can you push your endurance without sacrificing strength? That question became the foundation for this program. The goal isn’t to turn you into a marathon runner overnight. It’s to build the running capacity, strength, durability, and aerobic base needed to handle longer distances while continuing to train hard in the gym. The programs progress toward a 10-mile or half marathon effort, giving you a strong foundation to eventually take on a full marathon when you’re ready. You’ll continue to lift heavy, build strength, run progressively longer distances, and incorporate CrossFit-style conditioning along the way. Train for more without giving up what you've already built.
