RATIO: 1 to 3 maximum PRICE: £180 per booking The iconic Helvellyn, and the adventurous approach ridge walk across Striding Edge leading up to it, has become one of the most popular routes of the Lake District. Located in the central lakeland fells and fairly accessible (traffic dependant!), there are a variety of walking routes to reach the summit which, standing at 950 metres/ 3117 feet, offers fabulous views across the surrounding Fells. Approaching via Striding Edge can be exciting and a step out of the comfort zone as in places there is a requirement for some 'hands on/scrambling'. However the popularity and steady stream of people attempting the route can lead to a false sense of security and underestimation of the possible consequences of a slip or fall, unfortunately there are a number of incidents and fatalities on the mountain each year. By keeping our group number small we are able to manage all safety aspects and concerns of the route through adequate observation and clear instruction, whilst also ensuring excellent instructor to client communication. BOOKING: We currently offer this 'leader led' route/adventure on a 'by arrangement only' basis, we do not offer 'turn up and walk open dates'. This enables us to plan each individual client/client groups booking around their aspirations whilst considering their capabilities. REQUIREMENTS: Those wishing to complete this 1 day guided walk should have an adequate level of fitness needed for a full days walking and some scrambling in a mountainous environment. and also have appropriate clothing and equipment for the conditions to gain the most from the day. PLEASE NOTE: We recommend taking out travel, personal accident and cancellation insurance. INCLUDED: Leadership, instruction, planning, and organisation by a fully qualified and experienced course/adventure leader/instructor. NOT INCLUDED: Travel, accommodation, any other expenses such as parking fees, equipment hire etc.
