The String Beaner is a small detail carving knife made for getting into tight spaces where a larger blade can get in the way. Its short, narrow W1 tool steel blade gives you excell ent control for fine details and intricate cuts. The smaller handle keeps the knife maneuverable and comfortable when working up close. Comes sharp and ready to carve. Knife Handle Length: Handles are approximately 5" in length. Handle Material: Oak. The wood shown in the photo may not look exactly like what you receive. Blade Material: W1 tool steel Tang Length: 1-1/2" Steel Dia: 3/16" Blade: This blade features a slight secondary bevel at the cutting edge. Unlike a flat-ground edge that can be more prone to rolling or damage, the secondary bevel puts a little more steel behind the cutting edge, giving it added strength and durability while also helping the blade roll out of a cut cleanly. This makes edge maintenance straightforward. When stropping or sharpening, simply raise the back of the blade slightly to follow and maintain the existing bevel.
