For those of you who know the Strat and Tele. this will look and feel like familiar territory – an old friend. Where things change up are the electronics. Here we have the classic 3 single coil pick-ups with a 5 way switch, Master Volume and Tone and then the fun begins….with an On/Off switch for the Middle Pick UpThe 5 way is set up to give the following selection (switch – off and 1 being towards the neck)- Neck - Neck and Bridge (Parallel) - Bridge - Bridge with a shelf filter (think cocked wah) - Neck and Bridge (Series – Humbucker) This is where it gets interesting using the on off switch to bring in the Middle Pick Up. Switch it on and you get: - Neck + Middle - Neck, Middle + Bridge (Parallel) - Bridge + Middle (Knopfler territory) - Bridge with a shelf filter (think cocked wah) + Middle (thickens it up and adds articulation) - Neck and Bridge (Series – Humbucker) + Middle The build specs are:Body – Mahogany Neck – Maple with Rosewood Fingerboard, bone nut and Gotoh Tuners Finish – Aged Surf Green Nitro Old Friend Finish With hardcase.
