The String System Display Cabinets are 78 cm wide modules that fit into the 30 cm deep String Side Panels at any desired height. They are available with a wood veneer or lacquered paint finish to all exposed sides so the top surfaces can also be used as a display surface. The glass display cabinet features a single adjustable glass shelf in one piece, whereas the wooden Cabinets with Sliding Doors have a central partition and two adjustable shelves. The String shelving system was designed by Swedish Architect Nils Strinning in 1949, it became an instant classic thanks to its affordable pricing, flexibility and minimal aesthetic. The next year an order was placed to fit-out the planned UN Headquarters in New York City, the perfect fit for the now iconic modernist building.
