The Stromberg Carlson. iHorn is made from a 1930 to 1940 commercial telephone coupled with a fox hunting horn. Stromberg Carlson was formed in 1894 upon the expiration of Alexander Graham Bell’s patent on the telephone for the purpose of entering the telephone business capitalized with a total of $1,000.00. It became the leading independent telephone producer making what became known as the “Farmer’s Telephone” because they connected rural America with its urban partners. Stromberg Carlson produced radios from 1927 through 1956. Because Bakelite plastic was used in telephones from approximately 1920 through 1940. Further, because Stromberg Carlson suspended manufacturing telephones during World War I, the instant telephone was probably made around 1934. Stromberg Carlson was still in operation as late as 2006, but was owned by Siemens. The Stromberg Carlson iHorn represents ingenuity and survival. It is orderly and functional. Show more
