A Stuart 5A vertical engine, nicely made it runs well on air with slight runout at the flywheel rim. This one has come to us from a long time customer, a fine engineer whose work h as featured regularly in these pages. One of the largest of the Stuart engines, we've seen these fitted in everything from steam canoes to vertical boiler locomotives - Stuart rate it 1 1/2 bhp at 800rpm on 100psi steam.
