Price: $150 per calendar month Time: Thursdays, 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Location: Sacramento Fine Arts Center About the Session Grab your brushes and join a welcoming, supportive community of artists! This weekly mentorship group is a wonderful space to grow your skills, share inspiration, and enjoy a dedicated morning of creativity. Bring whatever painting you are currently working on, whether it’s a landscape, an animal portrait, or a completely different subject. If you're starting fresh or looking for inspiration, don't worry! I'll always have a selection of beautiful reference photos available for you to choose from. We start each session gathered together for a short, approachable lecture focusing on a specific painting technique. You will learn practical methods like managing a limited color palette, building a strong value underpainting, or seeing shapes and light. These methods can be immediately integrated into your current work. After the morning lesson, the rest of the time is yours to paint at your own pace. You will receive personalized guidance and constructive critiques as you work through your piece. Medium Focus This class is open to artists of any skill level that use opaque mediums(oil and acrylic). My painting process and style is more helpful to students working in those mediums. Experienced watercolorists are welcome; however, please note that my guidance for this medium will focus on universal concepts such as composition, values, and drawing rather than specific watercolor techniques. Attendance and Guest Passes Life happens, and sometimes you may need to miss a week. Since this group thrives on its regular community, I do not prorate monthly tuition for missed days. Instead, if you are unable to attend your scheduled morning, your missed session transforms into a Guest Pass! You are invited to bring a friend, family member, or fellow artist with you to any future Thursday morning session to paint alongside the group. What to Bring Please bring your current work-in-progress(or a blank canvas if you'd like to use one of the provided reference pictures) along with your favorite painting supplies. To help keep our shared studio space healthy, breathable, and comfortable for everyone, I kindly ask that all mediums and solvents be petroleum and turpentine-free.
