Polychrome jasper, also called desert jasper, comes out of Madagascar and was only found relatively recently, and this polished sphere shows you exactly why collectors went after i t. Reds, ochres, golds and greens run through it in bands and swirls that keep changing as you turn it, so you never quite finish looking at the thing. Polychrome jasper is a stone of inner balance and adaptability, and it is a grounding presence sitting on a stand or a shelf.
