The Sturmtiger assault howitzers of Sturmmörserkompanie 1000 and 1001 were attached to 6. SS-Panzer Armee to take part in Wacht am Rhein (Watch on the Rhine, the Ardennes offensive ) in mid-January 1944. However, it wasn’t until late-January that they joined the battle where they were engaged in fighting on the Eifel front around Duren and Euskirchen.
