Sacred Indigo was designed to uplift the culture and physical representation of abundance, Black Indigenous cultures and heritage of wealth, and royalty. The print centers the cowrie shell, a powerful symbol associated across various African and Indigenous cultures and histories in our global community. This unique design is a depiction of wealth, prosperity, and abundance. Repeated across flowing, almost water like lines, the shells create a rhythmic pattern that feels both ancestral and contemporary. The palette of colors: indigo, lavender, purple, soft blue, black, and white gives the design its regal presence. Indigo has a deep history in African textile traditions, while purple has long carried associations with royalty, prestige, and luxury. Together, the colors give Sacred Indigo a feeling of richness without needing excess.
